GAME RULES

STANDARD HIGH SCHOOL RULES

CLOCK (TIME)
3rd -6th Grade Running Clock 18-minute Halves
7th - 9th Grade Running 20-minute Halves
10th -12th Grade running 22-minute Halves

***CLOCK STOPS LAST 1 MIN OF THE 2ND HALF IF THE GAME IS WITHIN 10PTS

Overtime 1 min stopping or FIRST TO SCORE 3 TOTAL POINTS (1 TimeOut - No carry over timeouts from regulation)

Double Overtime - Sudden Death untimed- first to score in any capacity wins. (NO timeouts)

Half Time 2 minutes

Timeouts 3 Total 30-second timeouts per game
*** The ball can be advanced to the frontcourt in the last 2 minutes of either half or overtime if the Timeout is taken by the team with possession of the ball.

FOULS
Fouls PER HALF (7 team fouls 2 free throw shots)
5 Personal Fouls (6th Grade & below) 6 Personal Fouls (7th Grade & Up)
Players and Coaches are allotted 3 total technical fouls for the tournament – anyone who receives a 4th technical will be ineligible to participate for the remainder of the tournament. 2 technical fouls in one game will result in being thrown out for the remainder of that game.

MERCY RULES

*** 6th grade & below press rule. A team with a 30-point lead cannot press and cannot initiate defense above the half-court.

GAMES CALLED by point differential rules
*** Mercy Rule all ages/ grades - Games are called with 4 minutes in the second half if either team is losing by 30 points or more.
*** Mercy Rule all ages/ grades - Games are called with 6 minutes in the second half if either team is losing by 40 points or more.
*** Mercy Rule all ages/grades - Games are called with 8 minutes in the second half if a team is losing by 50 points or more.

CODE OF CONDUCT- Lastly coach we are relying on you to set a good example for your players and coaches to follow. Please be mindful that referees are people making judgment calls. They may make mistakes. Coaches do have the right to ask questions and make comments. Interaction between coaches and refs should be on a cordial professional level. Please let your fans know that at no point they are allowed to come onto the playing surface to confront referees directly. Doing so will result in them being ejected without a refund. In the event, that a fan or coach is asked to be removed, they must do so in a timely manner (2 minutes) If the fan or coach refuses to leave, the game will be called at that point in favor of the other team despite the score. NO FIGHTING will be tolerated. This can result in the game being called immediately and the players involved being removed from the remainder of the event. Fighting may also result in Law Enforcement being called. Excessive trash talk or taunting will not be tolerated. Cursing and Racial slurs will not be tolerated. These things will lead to immediate technical fouls.
